LINKIN PARK Singer Focused On Finishing Solo Album
November 5, 2008The Pulse of Radio reports that LINKIN PARK heads into the studio this week to begin working on the band's next album, but lead singer Chester Bennington is also intent on finishing up his first solo effort. He hopes to complete the recording in the next few months and release it in the spring or summer of 2009. As for what it sounds like, Bennington told The Pulse of Radio it's different from his work with LINKIN PARK. "There's a little bit more of a classic rock kind of feel to some of the songs," he said. "There's a familiarity, you know, from a different time, I guess, to some of the songs. It's a lot more straightforward rock, with a little bit of electronic elements to it, you know, lots of keys, lots of synths, stuff like that."
Although Bennington had initially called his solo project DEAD BY SUNRISE, he now says it will probably come out under his name.
The singer told Billboard he hopes to tour behind the CD, but added that he's cautious about "putting myself in a situation where I can't finish the LINKIN PARK record because I'm supposed to be on a tour. It's a really delicate kind of balancing act I'm gonna try to pull off here."
LINKIN PARK's latest single, "Leave Out All The Rest", will be heavily featured in this Thursday's (November 6) episode of the long-running TV series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation". The episode will open and close with the song, while the track's melody will be used throughout the show as part of the score.
"Leave Out All The Rest" is the fifth single to be issued from LINKIN PARK's 2007 album, "Minutes to Midnight".
The band will release a CD/DVD package called "Road to Revolution" on November 25. The double-disc set will contain one complete, 18-song concert filmed on June 29 at the Milton Keynes National Bowl in England during the European leg of this past summer's Projekt Revolution tour.
